Designing your path
So many people are “looking for a job” and they’ll take anything they can get — but can’t get anything. We think you need a clear path – or you’re going to be stuck! What if you allowed yourself to explore – and to see – where you’re really going? And what if you could just have that job that’s perfect for you?
This program is really for anyone – in any situation. You don’t have to be a designer – or a developer. Maybe along the way, you’ll figure out that is a good path for you? We don’t know. But it’s a universal framework for figuring this stuff out.
Total workshops: 9
Expected hours of focus: 27 hours (minimum)
Timeline at relaxed pace: 11 days (~2 weeks / 1 months)
Timeline at focused pace: 5-6 days (~1 weeks / 1 months)
This can be done as an in-person workshop (probably a full day / or two half days) — or self-paced.
Designing your path: Divergent thinking
Most people learn a skill (like coding or design) and then arbitrarily apply to every job in that category. This course helps you discover what you actually want through systematic self-exploration, then teaches you to reverse-engineer what companies need to see to trust you with those specific roles.
Key Principles Throughout
Iterative, Not Linear:
– Company lists start in Module 5, expand in Module 8, continue evolving
– Goals drafted in Module 3, refined in Module 7, may shift throughout
– Everything builds on everything else
Honest Over Impressive:
– “I want money” is as valid as “I want to change the world”
– The point is clarity, not performance
Personalized Over Templated:
– No one-size-fits-all resume templates
– Your proof strategy should match YOUR situation and strengths
Pattern Recognition:
– Look for themes across life, work, preferences
– What correlates? What’s consistent? What surprises you?
