The bullshit asymmetry principle

Brandolini’s Law highlights how easy it is to make a claim—true or not—compared to the massive effort it takes to disprove it. In the web world, this applies to sweeping statements like “all bootcamps are scams” or “learning to code is easy.” Saying it takes seconds; refuting it requires explaining the nuances of education, the complexities of web development, and the challenges of teaching. And even then, the person hearing the truth might still oversimplify it back to the original lie. It’s a reminder of how disproportionate the effort is between creating and correcting misinformation.
