Tacit knowledge

The stuff you know how to do but can’t fully put into words. You learned to ride a bike, but you couldn’t write instructions that would teach someone else. You know when a conversation is about to get awkward before anyone says anything wrong. That’s tacit knowledge – understanding that resists explanation.
