Hi, Jeffrey. My name is Derek Wood. People keep telling me that we should work together. Here’s a quick video introducing myself.

TL;DW I design dev and design curriculum. I’d love to talk about some areas I could help.

As I went to find your email, I ran across this laracasts.com/work/instructor – so, what was a friendly hello: can also morph into an example of how I’ve been making videos. Keep in mind that I make these videos in a way specific to the goals of this site and our students. I’m confident I’d be able to make some really great educational content for Laracasts that fits in and holds to your quality and care. Here’s a list of example videos over the last 5 years.

• General short specific video about taking screenshots, why, and which tools 
• One of the earliest videos for PE that sets up human memory for context in computing
• An example of where I work with another person (Ivy) (my now wife!) organic discussion and exploration of the file system (and some silly production)
• Me having some early fun tryin to keep things lively with silly video editing to keep a (possibly) boring subject – focused.
• Almost all UI layout comes down to this (evergreen resource vs video)
• Early flexbox explorations  (buddy teaching style)
• Story telling and PHP stuff
• Story telling and CMS / app planning stuff
• JavaScript exploration (no face!) → no-video support post 
• Vue 3 explorations 
• I’ve got tons of visual design and UI and Figma stuff we could explore too. I’ve also been working with ClaudeCode on real-world projects and have a lot of interesting stories about the bad and the good of those tools.
