In order to educate and communicate with stakeholders, you need to define the key terms.
“User research” What’s that? Still an early career.
Desk research vs secondary research / how critical do we need to be?
Funnel:
Goal (trying to achieve / outcome) (small or large)
Needs (things we need to help us achieve that goal)
Tasks (actions to get us towards the goal) (might be stopping something that’s stopping you)
Pain points (things that are preventing you from getting to the next step)
Motivations (can be unconscious)

Quantitative
looking at analysis. Usability metrics. RBT type things. The Usability Metric for User Experience (UMUX)
Observations
Things people do – but don’t have meaning behind. Might not be able to interpret anything from it (watch out for assumptions / or giving meaning to them – what are the other possibilities? How confident are you in this assumption… ).
