What does "perpetual" mean — is this a school you stay in forever?
The name isn't about being a lifetime subscriber — it's a stance on how learning actually works. Most programs are built around a graduation point: finish the curriculum, get the certificate, move on. PE's premise is that the work doesn't end there. The designers and developers worth hiring are the ones who are still curious three years later — still reading, still building, still willing to be wrong about things they thought they understood. "Perpetual" is the opposite of "done." It's the recognition that the web changes, the tools change, and the judgment you need to navigate all of that only comes from continued practice. DFTW has an arc and a structure — it's not endless. But completing it isn't the goal. What you do with it afterward is. You'll leave with tools and a foundation and, hopefully, the appetite to keep going on your own. That's the actual finish line.
