This sounds emotionally intense — is it?
Sometimes, yes. You’re examining your own patterns, which means some of what surfaces is uncomfortable — “I’ve been applying for jobs I’d hate,” “I picked my major to please someone else,” that kind of thing. It’s not therapy and we’re not pretending to be therapists. But we’re also not pretending that examining your direction is a neutral exercise. Most people find the discomfort useful. It’s the alternative to another year of drifting.
